Learn How To Meditate

Tonight is our monthly meditation class. We will meet at Grand Canyon Shanti Yoga studio at 6:30 p.m. We learn the basics of meditation, and then we practice those teachings. This is an opportunity to learn this very helpful practice FOR FREE. If you are moved by the spirit of generosity, you may donate a few dollars to the studio to cover their costs (electricity, use of their cushions, blankets & chairs) but this is not required.

I started this class because I truly believe that meditation can transform your mind by quieting the internal chatter that creates anxiety, anger, frustration, sadness, loneliness and craving. Nothing is required of you, just a willingness to sit quietly and observe your mind. You can sit on a cushion or a chair, and you can wear whatever you like. You don't need to bring anything with you. This practice is meant to be as inclusive as possible so that it can reach as many people as possible.

We begin by learning how to sit, hold your body and settle your mind. Then we move on to observing your thoughts. Later we do a special practice meant to help people get in touch with their natural goodness and joy.
